As part of good practice, removing data that no longer exists or is out of time is good to be destroyed to reduce any exposure and to release disk requirements (live or backup).
The Data Destruction module from LFS, helps you identify the matters where the file is no longer available (perhaps the paper file has been destroyed years before?) and the electronic data (data and documents) are still stored against the SQL database or file system. The module displays the matters that meet your criteria, you are then required to mark those that you do/do not wish to destroy and when ready, the LFS data destruction tool will remove all matter related data along with any documents in the file system. A matter header record is retain to show the matter existed and therefore the matter sequential numbering but no other information is retained.
